Serve to lead. The content covered is based on a collection of thinking and from my research into the most stressful leadership job in the world – a military leader. There are many learns from the way military are trained to give their followers a “cause to believe in a leader to trust” and the most important quality they reflect is the ability to “serve to lead”.
Serve to lead is the ability to build a cohesive and high performing team. It works everywhere as people consistently want to give their best to leaders who put the interests of the common good, the team and objective before their own interests. People respect and want to give their best for selfless leaders because they inherently trust them. The selfless leader inspires the team to the ultimate performance, which will last longer and be better than the selfish leader who intimidates people into performance.
